Commissioning Engineer
Job Title: Commissioning Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer with a strong mechanical background and extensive experience in the data center market to effectively execute project assignments. The ideal candidate will have experience in vertical markets such as hospitals, large and complex facilities, and mission-critical facilities, including data centers, telecommunications, or disaster recovery sites. Responsibilities + Participate in daily commissioning activity meetings, covering services like equipment pre-start-up procedures and the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and methods of procedures (MOPs). + Prepare commissioning test procedures and reports. + Develop and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projects. + Write comprehensive reports with recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, lists of deficiencies, and equipment operation and maintenance manuals. + Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation relevant to commissioning. + Develop and administer functional tests for various systems, including mechanical central chilled water plants, packaged rooftop units, boilers, chillers, computer room air conditioning units, and fire protection systems. + Conduct integrated system testing and building management system testing, and compile all testing procedure results. Essential Skills + Minimum 10 years of experience in the Electrical Mission Critical Field. + Experience in construction and commissioning within hospitals, large/complex facilities, and mission-critical facilities. + OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus. + Experience in reviewing design criteria, specifications, and other documentation related to commissioning. + Ability to develop and administer functional tests for various mechanical systems. + Good communication skills and ability to interface with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and owners' agents. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's or Associate's Degree is a plus. + Certification with a tech company is desirable, typically taking about a year to achieve. + Experience with IEEE procedures and protocols is a plus. + Possession of basic knowledge of system design. + Commissioning certification or PE is preferred. Work Environment This role requires extensive travel, with 60-65% of the time spent on the road, sometimes for 2-3 weeks at a time on site.
