Commissioning Engineer- Rolling Stock

Position Overview:


Our Commissioning Engineer will work in an experienced team and exciting environment on next generation diesel or electrical locomotives, coach cars, light rail vehicles, or even full train consists. Our vehicles are connecting cities all over North America. The Field Service group is working close together with our customers, all Siemens Mobility Departments worldwide and our Field Service Teams on site. The main goal of the Commissioning Engineer is to work with our complete Siemens team to engineer, thoroughly test, and commission our products to achieve high customer satisfaction and a reliable product.

  

What your day-to-day will look like:


Develop an expert role in commissioning Siemens electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, passenger coach cars, light rail vehicles, and trainsets.Develop detailed technical testing plans for upcoming projects and create detailed test reports for vehicle qualification during the commissioning process.Identify and drive the purchase of equipment and tooling required for commissioning.Collaborate with Siemens Engineering, Production, Scheduling, Project Management and Quality Management to streamline commissioning processes.Provide technical expertise to field service teams.Develop commissioning schedules and track progress against schedule.Contribute and communicate technical feedback to Engineering to drive design corrections to meet specification requirements.


To thrive in this role, you have:



Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.Ability to work across multiple systems and develop core competencies beyond engineering field of study.Strong skills in reading schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).Willingness to take a “hands on” approach to commissioning.Ability to learn new software programs in a continuously evolving environment.

This position is based in Sacramento, Ca. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html. The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, Ca, is $80,600.00 - $108,800.00. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
