THE ROLE
We are seeking to appoint a Lead Commissioning Engineer to join our progressive joint venture on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager, you will work on an exciting portfolio of work based at North head, Manly (starting with the North Head Biosolids project). You will be working within high performing multi-functional teams that design, construct, upgrade, commission and manage Sydney Water’s assets in Greater Sydney’s Northern Region.
North Head Biosolids is the largest Stage 2 project in the Northern region and is approaching commissioning in 2025. The successful applicant has the opportunity to be involved at the most exciting time of the project and make an immediate impact. The Lead Commissioning Engineer is a high visibility position that will propel the successful applicant’s career in the water space.
YOU WILL
Support Commissioning Team with Safety activities both personnel and equipment. Supports organization with management of testing and completion of commissioning tasks on a day-to-day basis as and when required. Technically manage the commissioning team activities and necessary work with third party providers. Provide technical support at meetings and workshops. Able to develop and write client reports. Collaborates with the Quality team to ensure document compliance with Project Quality program. Manage/prepares commissioning and O&M documentation development, ITP’s & Check sheets, handover documentation. Manage / prepares the commissioning field checklists and ITPs as appropriate. Manages the temporary works program related to Commissioning. Manages the commissioning meetings and ensures that the meeting minutes are recorded. Manages the Risk register activities, ensuring that defects are captured and recorded. Manages the handover of the commissioned works to the client as detailed in Handover Plans. Manages / prepares project O&M manuals and SOP’s. Provide and manage training requirements. Manage allocated task budgets and deadlines within projects. Prepares, consults on, or reviews maintenance cost and staffing estimates.ABOUT YOU
Commissioning Engineer with experience in the commissioning of water and/or wastewater network and treatment infrastructure. Experience in food & beverage, process plant, mining, O&G or equivalent would also be desirable. Relevant qualifications suitable for the role (Engineering Degree or Electrical License). Experience leading teams to success, with experience in an on-site environment. The ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, contractors, and project staff.
