Commissioning Manager
The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for leading the commissioning activities for renewable energy projects, ensuring that all systems and components are tested, verified, and operate according to design specifications. This role will involve coordinating with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and operations teams to ensure a seamless commissioning process while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and experience in commissioning renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, and battery storage systems. Planning & Documentation Develop and implement commissioning plans, Pre-Functional Testing (PFT) scripts, Functional Performance Testing (FPT) scripts, schedules, and procedures. Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and approvals. Ensure proper documentation is provided for system handover and operational readiness. Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and client specifications. Execution and Oversight Oversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities to ensure systems operate per design specifications. Manage testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification of equipment and systems. Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions. Coordination and Communication Coordinate with engineering, construction, QA/QC, and operations teams to ensure seamless commissioning processes. Act as the primary liaison between project teams, clients, contractors, and vendors regarding commissioning activities. Lead commissioning meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and corrective actions. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during commissioning. Implement corrective actions and process improvements based on findings. Work with vendors and contractors to address deficiencies and non-conformance items. Post-Commissioning Support Provide operational support during initial startup and transition to full operation. Support operational teams with post-commissioning troubleshooting and optimization. Assist in training operations personnel on system functionality and maintenance. Ensure smooth handover to the client or facility management team. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field and/or equivalent field experience. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commissioning renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage, etc.). Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Experience with FTQ360 or similar commissioning management software. In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
