Overview

The Commodities Coordinator is responsible for operating as account manager handling the coordination, execution and tracking of inbound and outbound recycling shipments for a select list of customer locations. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Commodity and works with the entire Recycling Team to provide solutions that support Rubicon Triple Bottom Line (people, planet, and profit).

Key Responsibilities

Daily planning of outbound shipments for selected facilities and suppliers Manage transportation events to ensure manufacturing, supplier, and customer satisfaction Ensure carrier receipt and response of daily dispatching Manage carrier trailer pools at selected facilities and suppliers Track shipments and hold carriers accountable to on-time pick-up and delivery Work in multiple different ERP systems to track shipments Daily communication with internal/external customers and carriers via call tree/email/phone calls to recyclers or suppliers Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities Support strategic sourcing efforts to optimize the carrier base Analyze current structure and processes of department to advocate for positive growth and change Achieve financial and performance annual goals and objectives Ensure all data entered into Rubicon Systems is accurate, reliable and backed up with any and all information needed Must be able to hit weekly and monthly metrics for specific book of business

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree 2+ years of customer support or client service experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on e-mail etiquette and active listening Customer oriented and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook Ability to learn quickly Strong analytical skills Ability to quickly analyze problem situations and make fact-based decisions Proven skills to set priorities, achieve deadlines, and manage multiple tasks at the same time Accuracy and attention to detail Task oriented with strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required Ability to travel, less than 5% travel needed Knowledge of industry equipment rental, sales, setups Knowledge of metal recycling market: processes, vendor relationships throughout the US, and rebate pricing structures
