Commodity Analyst Intern

Job Description Summary: As a Commodity Analyst Intern for Green Plains Inc. you will be placed in the heart of the action and be exposed to multiple facets of the company. The intern team will research, develop, and present a summer project to the executive staff at the close of the summer internship. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Attend daily morning meetings with trade floor members and executive team to discuss the company’s position in the markets Prepare numerous reports including, but not limited to: corn and feed contracts, market drivers, position summaries, margin evaluations, etc. Research and analyze market supply and demand trends using data and insights from company meetingsCollaborate with current employees to enhance analytical skills and gain a deeper understanding of the markets and industry. Assist in physical commodity logistics, including scheduling and freight analysis Perform extensive research for group projects and create executive level presentations Assist in other duties as needed and directed

Qualifications:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, with preference given to majors in Business Administration, Agriculture, or Agribusiness Sophomore standing or above, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 Experience or knowledge in the grain/agriculture industry preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Must be technically capable of using a personal computer and a range of software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with urgency and within deadlines Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads Ability to maintain positive, professional relationships, internally and externally Demonstrated business acumen and leadership qualities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Valid driver’s license required.
