The Role\: Commodity Leader
The candidate will be responsible for strategic purchasing of active and passive components in terms of cost, negotiation, business share allocation, alternate sourcing, and supplier management to achieve maximum benefits through proper utilization of system resources & effective control.
What will you do?
50% COSTING AND NEGOTIATION
· Negotiates prices to achieve cost benefits per management targets
· Finalizes price agreements and percent share allocation based on merits & maintains them systematically to ensure maximum utilization, effectiveness & realization of business contracts with suppliers/manufacturers per agreed terms continuously
· Strategizes cost down and value engineering efforts per defined targets
· Maintains & reviews scientific cost calculation matrix or linear cost modeling for various electronic parts to ensure competent costs per commodity
· Creates Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) based on the agreed terms and conditions with the vendor
· Review legal agreements with suppliers from time to time
30% SOURCING
· Find alternate sources for improved localization, better cost, and smooth parts supply
· Vendor management through consolidation activity to streamline supply chain gaps for effective parts procurement & quantity scale merit benefits
· Joins vendor audits along with Quality and Logistics regularly
20% KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR MONITORING
· Resolves critical issues on a regular basis without effecting manufacturing/production operations
· Plans routine work through effective utilization of supply chain tools
· Achieves defined quarterly & yearly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets per management guidelines
· Provides purchasing updates to top management regularly
· Participate in global synergy workshops
· Performs other related duties that may be assigned from time to time
Who would be successful?
· Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent
· Minimum 5 years of work experience in Purchasing and handling the above-mentioned commodities
· Should have adequate knowledge on Raw Materials or commodity price trends & process cost models
· Hands-on experience on ERP (ORACLE, SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) are an added advantage.
· Should have very good negotiation, communication and analytical skills
