Position DescriptionThis job is a fundamental function of Modine Purchasing team to support manufacturing operation in China region as well as global. The main working scope is supply management, RFQ bidding for new awarded programs or existing parts, commercial negotiation, Commodity Strategy creation and implementation. This position is under Modine China Purchasing organization and dot-line connected with global Commodity team.
Key Responsibilities Work with other functions (e.g. SQ/AE) on identifying and selecting qualified suppliers for both local purchases and export Develop a high degree of understanding for the technology and support engineering on their interfaces with supply base Follow global sourcing process and commodity strategy to make sourcing decision in daily work. Negotiates contracts, prices and terms with suppliers best in price, quality, and service based upon cost analysis, market research and supplier assessment Support global Commodity leader to develop global Commodity strategy together with other regional Commodity buyers Working on cost reduction activities in line with global and regional material cost reduction targets Develops and maintains reliable supply base, including new supplier development Complete other procurement work assigned by management Required Education & QualificationsQualifications
Bachelor degree or above. Engineering degree is preferred Strong communication with cross-function teams Understand basic purchasing procedure and working flow Good at cost analysis and data mining Understand Quality Management System (e.g. ISO, IATF) and Tools English language skills in speech and writing Good at MS-Office in Excel and PowerPoint Time zone flexibility and an ability to travel Self-motivated and ambitious on career development
Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years full time working experience in purchasing field in manufacturing or Automotive industry
