Responsibilities: The Commodity Manager will provide overall vision, leadership, and specific direction to the (Product) Purchasing Manager, Buyers, and support personnel. You will be responsible for effectively executing the product, purchasing, and selling strategies required by the Sales and Marketing Group, within the assigned product grouping. This individual will also assume overall operational responsibility of the designated product line and manage it as a business unit with clear deliverables such as Product Line Advancement, Turnover Rate, Return on Investment, Fill Rate, Profitability, and others. While this position is posted in Exton, PA we may be open to other locations. + Be responsible for Product Line Advancement, Turnover Rate, Return on Investment, Fill Rate, and Profitability. and others. + Support the Strategic Objectives of the Corporate Sales and Marketing Group by developing and executing an effective tactical plan which aligns with the assigned product line to allow growth. + Work closely with corporate and regional personnel, especially the Marketing Team, Regional General Managers and Branch Managers to learn and assimilate market realities such as potential, competitive requirements and opportunities in the context of TW Metals’ practical ability to be successful. + Provide expertise as required locally and drive the profitable market share growth of the assigned product group. + Assist the Marketing Team to develop a clear definition of the markets, products, and sales objectives related to the assigned product area (product plan). + Provide directions to the (Product) Inventory Manager to develop a product supply program which meets the specific requirements (pricing, quality, service, delivery, etc.) of the assigned product group. + Interact with Regional and Business Unit (i.e., Nuclear, Global Business Unit etc.) Personnel and provide summary advice and mentoring (as required) to provide for the growth of profitable sales. + Provide guidance on Contract Sourcing requirements and bid development and develop a workable process to facilitate the aggregation of contract (or program) spend. + Provide guidance on Project requirements and train the Product Purchasing Manager to help provide similar support in the development of these opportunities. + Communicate with the Regions and vendors to assist in ensuring for effective Hub inventories + Work with Operations, Local Management, and especially Suppliers to help meet the strategic objectives of the product plan.
