The Commodity Specialist will process purchase orders, ensure suppliers on time delivery and issue
Request for Quotes (RFQ), primarily for logistics. The Commodity Specialist will also schedule, track and
update the status of shipments, and assist in analysis of route plans, load schedules and provide
recommendations for process improvements.

As a Commodity Specialist, you will:

Process purchase orders in a timely manner and ensure supplier on time deliveryIssue Request for Quotes (RFQ) for new product with the preferred supply baseParticipate in the negotiation and management of global strategic supplier contractsExecute supplier performance reviews to assess the effectiveness of the strategy and make
changes where appropriateSchedule, track, and update the status of shipments based on customer requestsAssist Commodity Managers in analysis of route schedules or load plans, historical activity, and
customer trends to provide recommendations for improvementsActively participate in department continuous improvement initiativesMonitor supply markets and trends and aggregate forecasts & global specifications

To be as considered a Commodity Specialist, you will need:

High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or related fieldAbility to learn quickly, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a
variety of challengesUnderstanding of ocean, land, and air logistics business cost drivers and risk mitigationDemonstrated competence in negotiating skills and assessing suppliersAbility to solve complex problems and manage conflictGood Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and verbal and written communication skills
