Team Overview
Our Legal team is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all ADF external communications. In this role, you will personally review each communication and collaborate with ADF attorneys to ensure that all assertions are accurate and that the tone is consistent with our identity as followers of Christ. External communications include, but are not limited to, fundraising letters, ministry friend education letters, Faith & Justice magazine articles, newsletters, brochures, marketing materials, video scripts, telemarketing scripts, website copy, blogs, op-eds, and some presentation materials. You will also regularly create and contribute original written content, such as news releases and opinion commentary, for external audiences.
Key Responsibilities
+ Review & Quality Assurance: Review ADF communications for legal and factual accuracy, tone, persuasiveness, and readability, working closely with attorneys to ensure quality and integrity.
+ Collaboration & Communication: Facilitate the review process by transferring drafts between communications and legal teams, ensuring cross-team collaboration and timely feedback.
+ Content Creation & Improvement: Assist in creating and contributing written content, such as news releases and opinion pieces, while continuously improving the writing quality of ADF communications.
+ Legal Understanding & Support: Help communication teams understand the legal process and ensure external communications align with legal and factual standards.
+ Cross-Team Collaboration: Foster communication between legal and communication teams to streamline workflows and encourage collaborative efforts in crafting ADF’s message.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years of experience as a writer and editor.
