Responsibilities Under the guidance of the ARX unit create and coordinate messages and materials to improve infection control and to prevent transmission of emerging infections caused by antibiotic resistant bacteria and efforts to improve antibiotic use; review messages regularly and assist with formative research that may inform messages and materials. Coordinate and update web and Internet-based content about antibiotic resistance and develop content based on best practices in risk communications, usability and plain language. Coordinate cross-communication with other Divisions and Centers to ensure collaboration and consistency of messages regarding antibiotic resistance and improving antibiotic use wherever antibiotics are used. Attend all antimicrobial resistance-related coordination meetings. Serve as communications liaison; ensure that Division staff are aware of policy and communication issues across CDC. Under the guidance of the ARX unit review clearances of all materials related to CDC antimicrobial resistance issues. Identify for AR communications team lead gaps, tasks, or communications needs of other AR-involved divisions; proactively plan in advance and in between government AR announcements and emergency responses. Under the guidance of the ARX unit collaborate with division Partnership Coordinator to conduct webinars and outreach efforts associated with AR. Create content for various social media platforms; track and evaluate reach and engagement of the social media content created. Proactively identify, research, and resolve problems or issues; participate in team strategy session to discuss solutions. Proactively recommend updated strategies to improve analysis tactics and outreach efforts. Under the guidance of the ARX unit coordinate meetings with diverse internal and external stakeholders, including planning, logistics, and follow up activities. Attend AR-related coordination meetings and team building activities. Travel with CDC staff to provide technical support/assistance to CDC and partner organizations as required AR leadership. Coordinate and provide logistical support at approved conferences and meetings in relations to communications and antimicrobial resistance activities. Attend CDC approved trainings required to learn new CDC government systems to complete required tasks. Research, write, and edit documents which may include blogs, press releases, digital products, fact sheets, and other print materials. Assist in developing education strategies and methods of communications with specific target audiences based on assessment of needs of the audience and appropriate channels and strategies with which to reach them. Support program evaluation efforts; performs tasks including analysis and assessment of qualitative and quantitative data, writing of methods, approaches, summaries, evaluations and results, conducting research on relevant topics to support program services. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Health. Masters or other advanced degree in relevant discipline strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years’ related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Teleworking Permitted? Yes
