Communication Specialist Senior
Overview ***This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP*** Reporting to the Communications and Media Manager, the MWR Communications Specialist, Sr. provides internal/external communications support and communications programs supporting task order contract requirements Responsibilities This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company. Coordinates daily team activities to distribute workload and assignments in collaboration with work unit goals. Implements and maintains community news and entertainment-related programs to meet contract requirements. Develops professional material content, takes photos and schedules print and broadcast information to inform base populations of upcoming events. Monitors outside news sources for relevant content reporting through publications, editorials, and unbiased reports as appropriate for release through daily radio and weekly news publication. Ensures required deadlines for daily, weekly, and monthly publications, and circulation requirements are met, as needed to meet performance goals. Coordinates with manager to improve and streamline workflow for department operations and work processes. Works cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service. Coordinates press releases, social media content and broadcast schedules with manager for consistent coverage. Arranges meetings, conducts interviews, covers military demonstrations and community events for print and broadcast media when appropriate. Solicits and maintains customer feedback using various collection methods and addresses comments in a timely manner. Reports on team progress and covers for manager when unavailable. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, telecommunications, or related field preferred Must be CAC eligible and/or obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required. Experience: This position requires a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an editing, reporting or video production role with 5 years’ experience developing graphics, video content or print media for marketing, publicity and/or advertising Needs to have strong speaking skills, as well as interpersonal and problem-solving skills to develop relationships and create effective solutions to communication problems. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Must be able to work rotating shift schedules which provide 24/7 coverage and must have the ability to quickly understand and communicate company newsletters. Candidate should also have strong interpersonal skills and superb Teamwork skills. Experience in demonstrated aptitude in both managing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives are a must. Skills: Advanced level capability with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite required. Familiarity with Final Cut Pro, Sound booth, Audacity preferred. Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. Physical Requirements: Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
