The Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the creation, execution and measurement of communications strategies, internally and externally. Collaborates with the management team to identify communication needs. Serves as a project manager for marketing strategies, internal communication, social media, community outreach and events. Focuses on the patient experience with the goal of bringing our brand to life within our many patient and prospective patient touchpoints.
Your Everyday
Participates in implementing strategic communications campaigns through CRM, marketing automation, and social media that supports assigned service line communication goals.
Provides communications support for marketing initiatives that support the hospital and service lines.
Ensure patient experience aligns with the organization's intended brand image.
Collaborates with management team, other team members to identify priorities and execute marketing strategies that support identified communications requirements.
Support the marketing team by leading community outreach and sponsorship activities and employee-related events.
Maintains and updates hospital collateral, managing the production (design, writing, editing, distributing) of communication materials.
Creates and implements the editorial calendar on a timely basis and determine sources for content both internal and external communication needs.
Supports the implementation of the internal communication strategic plan and related activities.
The Must-Haves
Minimum:
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, English, Journalism or a related field and 3 years of experience in marketing communications.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
A deep understanding of best practices in event planning and management.
Ability to effectively communicate and build consensus in a complex environment.
Detail-oriented approach with excellent prioritization and project management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Excellent self-direction. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Results-oriented and exhibits strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with all levels of staff (executive, front-line, and physicians) and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Must work well under pressure of multiple projects having competing deadlines and with minimal supervision.
Flexibility required. Occasional evening and weekend work.
A blend of abilities including building and managing relationships internally and externally.
Experience with email marketing software, website content management systems, website and social media analytics.
Experience with image editing software or Adobe creative suite and ability to provide art direction.
Experience with video editing software.
