Your role and responsibilities

We are now looking for a Communication System Specialist to join our team at Digital Systems, ELDS in Vaasa. In this position you will design, implement and commission automation and communication systems for the electrification of industrial plants, data centers, wind/solar plants and utility substations. You will succeed in this role if you are innovative, organized, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Due to the nature of the work and location of the development lab, majority of the work is Vaasa based.The work model for the role is: #LI-hybridYou will be mainly accountable for:• Designing of communication architecture for the control system of the electrical network• Handling the implementation of the automation systems in the customer projects • Communication network engineering, communication switch & cyber security configurations • System and communication testing and commissioning

Qualifications for the role

B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from Information, Automation or Communication TechnologySolid (> 5 years) relevant work experience from automation and control system engineeringExcellent English and Finnish, both written and spokenThe ability to build customer relationships with a long-term focusA proactive and systematic way of workingPossibility to travel (average 25 days/year)Knowledge of PLC or other relevant automation and communication systems is seen as a strong benefitKnowledge in substation communication protocols (eg. IEC61850, DNP3, IEC60870-5-104) is seen as a strong benefit
