About the opportunity
Reporting to Senior Communications Manager, you will be part of the team that carries responsibility for protecting and enhancing Australia Post’s reputation and its social license to operate, which is achieved through the delivery of Australia Post’s communications strategy.
The Communications Advisor (Content and Channels) helps implement and bring to life AP's positions and decisions, developing and delivering communications strategies and creating high-quality, engaging and innovative digital content across a range of platforms and channels. You will be proactive in identifying story opportunities, in line with strategic objectives and content pillars, driving reach, engagement and impact. You also support the work conducted across the enterprise, including Australia Post’s commercial and strategic objectives, working with stakeholders across all areas of the business, and bringing to life AP’s positions and decisions.
You will build effective relationships at all levels of the business and develop a deep understanding of business needs and stakeholder audiences, proactively engaging with stakeholders to produce high-quality, relevant, and engaging content to drive strategic objectives.
You’ll be responsible for:
Helping develop and deliver on the Communications Strategy and think about strategic initiatives that will improve communication for our team membersProactively identifying and leveraging story opportunities to develop engaging content using a range of formats to effectively communicate and engage with team members across APContributing to the development of AP's internal content strategy and taking a proactive approach to its implementation including the production of high-quality written and audio-visual content, leveraging new and existing channels to support strategic objectivesContributing to the development and maintenance of a content calendar and effectively managing the end-to-end development of content including planning, production, and distribution, to ensure timely and consistent delivery of strategic and engaging content across channels Supporting enterprise projects and initiatives through effective delivery of communication plans and campaignsEvaluating communications strategies and monitoring and analysing content performance to make data-driven decisions, optimising content for maximum engagementSupporting adoption of Microsoft tools such as Viva Engage, Microsoft Teams, Copilot, and other initiatives by developing, advising, and delivering communications to enhance leader, team member and stakeholder engagement Building trusted, collaborative relationships with leaders and team members across the entire business to develop a deep understanding of business needs and audience interests, issues and barriers to engagement Collaborating with the wider Communications team to ensure consistency of business messages and alignment with enterprise-wide programsAbout you
You are a skilled communications and content specialist with creative flair and technical capability who is action-oriented, excellent at writing in short and snappy ways, and enjoys campaign style communication. You are organised, efficient, adaptable and have a solution-focused attitude. You’re inquisitive, proactive, eager to get stuff done, and enjoy building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders across the business.
What are we looking for?
5+ years’ experience as a communications, marketing or content professional in a large, complex, and highly regulated organisationProven experience in developing, executing, and evaluating communications campaigns and content plansExperience in working for organisations in the retail or logistics industry that have a geographically spread workforce is preferred but not essentialNatural curiosity about issues and developments about current news issues, and in the broader community socio-political environmentDemonstrated interpersonal, change communication and project management skillsGood understanding of issues and reputational impact, highly organised and efficientHow we’ll deliver for you
