Your OpportunityOur engagement team, based in Edmonton, works with a variety of clients to develop and implement strategic engagement and communication plans. The purpose of our work is to promote conversations that reveal different points of view, questions and concerns that inform clients and their projects. For projects requiring Consultation with Indigenous Nations, we work to understand how Indigenous or Treaty rights may be affected by a project.
We have a successful track record of respectful and meaningful engagement with stakeholders, the public and Indigenous groups across Canada. We are trained facilitators who have spent dozens of years engaging and Consulting on various projects for industry, and the various levels of governments. Our success is based on thoughtful planning, development, implementation and monitoring of engagement and Consultation programs. We excel when working on regulated, high profile and emotionally charged projects.
We are looking for an advisor to join our engagement team. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented person with a creative mind who enjoys working with people, organizing events, listening, and writing. The person we choose will work closely with us to plan, develop, and implement opportunities to interact with stakeholders, Indigenous groups, and the public. The advisor will assist with generating ideas, organizing events, tracking activities and reporting on information exchanged between participants.
Your Key Responsibilities Working in a team environment to generate creative ideas for engagement opportunities Organizing engagement events such as meetings, pop ups, open houses, and site visits Drafting engagement and communication plans, advertising, agendas, and plain language communication material such as presentations and fact sheets Taking detailed meeting notes Data analysis and report writing Maintaining mailing lists, stakeholder registries, and records of contact Proposal and budget development Your Credentials and Capabilities Experience with customer service, communications, and/or stakeholder, public, Indigenous engagement Ability to take initiative and work independently on work assignments Team player who is willing to contribute and collaborate Strong skills in writing, interpersonal communication, and active listening Ability to work with diverse individuals and support their participation in engagement activities Willingness to develop public speaking and facilitation skills Computer, database, and virtual engagement tool skills (ie. Excel, Word, InDesign, consultation databases, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Engagement HQ, Zoom) Flexible and adaptable to changing situations Education and Experience Post-secondary in a related field (ie. Business, Indigenous Studies, English, Anthropology, Sociology) 3-5 years' work experience Experience working on regulated projects would be an asset A valid driver’s license would be an assetOur team works in a hybrid environment including typical office days ( working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time), days in the field for site visits and hosting engagement activities, as well as work from home days. Project related travel will be required.
