Overview
PPPL is seeking a part-time Communications Assistant to join the Communications Department.The incumbent will report to the Communications Strategy and Digital Marketing Manager and join a team of writers, designers and creators to assist in the execution of digital communications and strategic communications campaigns.
The ideal candidate will have strong writing and organizational skills. In this role, the incumbent will draft social media content across LinkedIn, Instagram, X and Facebook and support the layout of digital newsletters, including both internal and external products. The incumbent willalso help to craft internal digital updates. This person’s work will appear on PPPL’s external digital and social media channels and on the internal staff intranet.

Responsibilities
Core Duties
+ Write social media posts and associated content across all Lab channels, including the Lab’s network of digital screens.
+ Write alternative text to accompany photography shared on social media.
+ Edit and build internal and external newsletters.
+ Write content for internal digital platforms.
+ Assist with other efforts and projects as assigned.
+ Administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
+ 2-5 years writing experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field.
+ Proficiency in Adobe and Google products.
+ Experience in social media, including LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook and YouTube.
+ Understanding of algorithms and platform best practices.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Strong writing and proofreading skills.
+ Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Sprout Social.
+ Familiarity with email marketing tools.
+ Familiarity with design programs such as Adobe Express is not required, but a plus.
+ Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and with a hybrid team.
+ Ability to work well under deadline, turning around products efficiently and effectively.
+ Excellent time/project manage and organizational skills.
+ Passion for the Lab’s mission and steward of Lab resources.
Working Conditions
+ Remote or hybrid work arrangement is preferred.
+ This part-time position is 25-30 hours per month depending on team needs.
