Communications Associate
Johns Hopkins Research IT Solutions group seeks a highly collaborative **_Communications Associate_** , who will report to the IT@JH Communications and Marketing Manager and work closely with the IT@JH Research IT Solutions Director. Research IT Solutions is part of Johns Hopkins’ expanding central IT support for its research mission. It offers a coordinated experience to its research community through the design and facilitation of secure, cutting-edge IT solutions and services, developed and supported in collaboration with key IT and administrative teams across the institution. Research IT Solutions bridges the gap between technology and research and helps faculty investigators and their teams navigate the complexities of IT throughout the project lifecycle – from ideation to discovery to sharing. The Communications Associate for Research IT Solutions will play a key role in supporting the communication needs of Research IT Solutions and partner teams, with a focus on designing and developing a coordinated, investigator-centric experience for researchers of all disciplines across Johns Hopkins University and Health System. The Communications Associate will collaborate closely with broader Research IT leadership to develop, execute, and manage communication strategies and materials that promote Research IT services, solutions, and achievements to faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders. This role will also work closely with the IT@JH Design team to ensure alignment with existing and future IT communication messaging, branding, style, and strategy. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** _Stakeholder Engagement Strategy_ + Work with Research IT staff to ensure communications align with the group's goals and effectively reach researchers and affiliated departments. _Content Development_ + Create compelling content for various platforms, including websites, presentations, emails, newsletters and social media, tailored to the unique needs of the research community. _Brand Alignment_ + Ensure all communications adhere to the department/University and Health System's branding and messaging guidelines. _Promotion and Outreac_ **h** + Assist in the promotion of Research IT solutions, services, and events, including crafting messaging, coordinating logistics, and creating outreach materials. _Analytics and Reporting_ + Track and analyze the performance of communication efforts and outreach events to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies. **Specific Duties and Responsibilities within Research IT Solutions** _Faculty Experience Design_ + Determine and develop best approaches and content to engage and communicate with research faculty and teams of all disciplines across the institution, balancing uniqueness with commonalities in their research technology navigation needs. Distill complex technical and compliance information into clear and relevant guidance materials for researchers. _Value Communication_ + Establish systematic documentation and highlight the impact of research IT solutions and services for Johns Hopkins’ research community, grounded in utilization metrics and faculty testimonials. **Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities** + Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with great attention to detail and ability to adapt to different audiences and varying levels of information sensitivity. + High proficiency in Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms; proficiency in social media, other digital marketing tools, and email marketing platforms. + Outstanding time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. + Superior organizational skills and ability to set priorities and respond quickly as priorities change. + Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build good relationships with peers and to interact with diverse stakeholders. + Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving and project management skills. + Must be able to work effectively both within a team and independently in a largely distributed/remote environment with multiple priorities and diverse viewpoints and experiences. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in related field. + Four years related experience. + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. **Preferred Qualifications** + Familiarity with fundamental information technology concepts, systems, and terminology. + Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud and graphic design experience and/or training. + PowerPoint presentation development skills. + Website design (Wordpress) and user experience skills. + Familiarity with chatbot and other AI/automated user experience technology is a plus. + Prior experience working in an academic institution Classified Title: Communications Associate Role/Level/Range: ATP/04/PD Starting Salary Range: $62,900 - $110,100 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)
