POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Individual performs a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to assisting with the testing, maintenance, and operation of protection and control equipment including IED’s (Intelligent Electronic Devices), electromechanical and solid-state protective relaying, PLC equipment, PSNH system telecommunications equipment (including fiber optics, two-way radio, and microwave), pole top Distribution Automation equipment, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and switchboard devices. Work will be performed under direct and limited supervision. Tasks include but are not limited to conducting field acceptance tests, installation, test, and repair of protective relays, SCADA, and telecommunications equipment. This position requires the ability to perform math functions, have a working knowledge of personal computers, interpret electrical, electronic drawings, and manufacturer's technical instruction manuals, follow instructions, have good communication skills (oral and written) and work under limited supervision. In addition, individual will perform work associated with preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic circuits, operate test equipment, hand and power tools, work from elevated positions (ladders) and within confined spaces. Position requires travel throughout the Eversource territory. Individual filling this position will be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime when offered. Individuals storm assignment will include damage assessment and services restoration. This position is one step in a multi-step progression program. 

Starting rate of pay: $39.44 per hour

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

An Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics. Individuals with a BSEE or BSET degrees are encouraged to apply. 

Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license, a clean driving record, and SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE EEI TECHNICIAN’S APPTITUDE TEST ISREQUIRED.
