Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $2,115.38 to $2,276.92+ biweekly amount, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Summary:
The Communications Coordinator will report to and support Copper Mountain’s Communications and Philanthropy Manager to earn favorable coverage that protects and promotes the brand. In addition to knowing the Copper Mountain brand, the person in the position will need to have an understanding of POWDR Adventure Lifestyle Co. to drive high funnel earned media placements for the portfolio.
This role is a vital member of the resort’s Communications and Marketing teams and the POWDR communications team. The Communications Coordinator will focus on driving business for Copper, as well as Company-wide initiatives, and must be familiar with and support an array of different divisions, including but not limited to Woodward, Marketing & Sales, Events & Partnerships, Food & Beverage, Lodging, Ski & Ride School, and Rental/Retail.
As part of the PR strategy, this role is also responsible for obtaining maximum positive positioning for the resort through earned coverage, internal communications and external/stakeholder communications. The position will assist day-to-day efforts including, but not limited to: fulfillment of media requests, media list maintenance, coverage tracking, media hosting, internal and external resort communications and incident management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports manager to handle media inquiries, pitch strategic stories, host visiting media, develop key messages, prepare spokespeople for interviews and serve as a liaison between the resort and media
Assist in developing a strategic communications plan that supports both Copper and POWDR business objectives
Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with media
Work with external partners such as Copper Mountain Resort Association, the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team, Colorado Ski Country USA, Alterra Mountain Co. and Colorado Tourism Office to ensure Copper is well-represented in their respective PR outreach initiatives
Coordinate with resort content producers to secure photos and video for dissemination to local, national and international media
Develop and distribute internal communications
Assist with planning and execution of PR related events
Assist with internal information gathering to help with seasonal prep and messaging
Own PR asset strategy and coordination with resort content producers to secure photos and video for dissemination to local, national and international media
Develop media tools such as press releases, fact sheets, talking points and press kits
Organize logistics for all media visits, including creating an itinerary that showcases the resort and delivers on our key brand messages
Manage and track PR results through reporting metrics that display the value of coverage
Support corporate initiatives such as Play Forever and Woodward
Assist Communications Manager in management of Athlete Sponsorship program
Assist in crisis communication scenarios
Basic administrative duties
On-call availability, including weekends and holidays

Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.

Must be at least 18 years old
Preferred Experience and Special Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or Marketing
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a communications or public relations role
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Ability to work autonomously and follow-through on expected duties in a timely fashion without managerial support
Ability to build internal and external relationships
Advanced skiing/riding ability
Proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools
Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
A passion for the outdoors and adventure sports is a plus
