Complete Description:
Manager will:
• Develop effective strategic communications plan that leverages brand promise and broadens awareness of Connect.DC programs and priorities.
• Develop, integrate, and implement PR activities designed to enhance Connect.DC brand.
• Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships.
• Develop and executive varied and integrated communications products including website, print publications, newsletters, online communications, media and public relations.
• Refine Connect.DC’s core messages to ensure brand consistency.
• Serve as executive editor for the development, production and maintenance of Connect.DC’s internal and external communication vehicles, including the main website, marketing materials, publications, newsletters, invitations, flyers, advertisements, and reports.
• Oversee multi-media awareness and marketing campaigns to connect communities to Connect.DC and partner programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, partners, and key constituencies to develop innovative solutions to bridging the digital divide in underserved communities.
• Proactively outreach to the stakeholders, such as community anchor institutions, District government agencies, businesses, and residents
• Secure key partnerships for the deployment of effective, comprehensive, and long term digital divide solutions.
• Develop multi-media campaigns to connect communities to new media technology, broadband, and public media resources
• Build a multi-sector coalition of digital inclusion advocates.
• Plan and manage events, as required.
The candidate will be periodically required to work in the evening and on the weekends to attend and coordinate community events.
