Job Title Communications Coordinator Agency Texas A&M University Department Dean Of Business Administration Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description A Glimpse of the Job The Communications Coordinator is responsible for content creation, media and public relations for Mays Business School. You'll develop and execute strategic communications which enhance visibility of Mays Business School, promote our programs & research initiatives and attract prospective students as you manage media relations, creating compelling content in collaboration with Mays Business School's communications team and internal & external stakeholders. Sharing your knowledge of best practices in media relations, you'll assist faculty and staff with publicity needs, fielding inquiries from the media and general public regarding departmental activities and publications. As our communications coordinator, you will research, interview and write news stories, profiles and research spotlights as you utilize your organizational skills, jugging multiple projects while meeting critical deadlines. The ideal candidate is experienced in developing written content, enjoys collaboration and loves the challenge of creating time-sensitive press releases. Opportunities to Contribute + Content Production - writes press releases, develops compelling content using articles, posts, profiles, etc. with creative story-telling. + Media & Public Relations - Collaborates to distribute press releases, media posts and news stories while addressing inquiries with stakeholders, conveying journalistic best practices. + Communications Strategy Coordination - Coordinates with Mays Marketing & Communications Team, as well as school leadership, to develop content strategy for promoting Mays Business School’s research, programs, and accomplishments with an emphasis on storytelling while mentoring student worker(s).
