JOB PURPOSE:
The Manager, Communications & Corporate Affairs plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the organisation’s strategic communications initiatives, both internally and externally. This role will support the C&CA Asia Director to make sure a safe business environment for IC operations in China with focus on corporate communications and internal communications.
This position requires a solid skillset in corporate communications include both internal and external with a strategic mindset in dealing with media, social media and issue management and change management. A good understanding of government relations and public affairs, with a focus on agriculture and food industries and capabilities in relationship building and problem solving is preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
External Affairs:
Corporate Communications:Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets.Draft press releases, media advisories, and other press materials.Monitor media coverage and analyze media sentiment.Respond to media inquiries in a timely and effective manner.Coordinate media interviews and press conferences.Monitor social media and online forums for potential crises.Employee Communications:Content localization, development and circulation to all ASIA employeesCreate engaging internal communication materials, such as newsletters, emails, and presentations.Content organization and execution for Townhalls and other employee communications eventsManage the internal communications email groups including announcements and newsletters distributionsCommunicate organizational changes effectively and sensitively.Provide support and guidance to employees during periods of change.Public Affairs:Engage with government stakeholders at the local and provincial levels to promote the company's objectives.Become a sourcing unit government liaison and support, .e.g trade facilitation for our access to portfolio, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and services across borders.Implement strategic policy on government relations and facilitate registration of projects with government agencies (where applicable).Assist the crisis and issue managementQualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.7+ years of experience in a corporate communications role.Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (MUST)Strong adaptability to AI tools and able to use technologies to serve the functionExcellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.Experience with crisis communication and media relations.Knowledge of social media and digital communication tools.Additional Considerations:
