TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 

External Communication

Identify communication opportunities in PACA aligned with the overall business and regional communication strategies. Locally implement and manage all strategic elements, focusing on delivering business value and enhancing the company’s reputation.Build and maintain relationships with journalists in key countries within the region, respond to press inquiries, coordinate interviews, and generate content to strengthen the company’s presence in media aligned with business needs.Proactively engage with journalists, opinion leaders, associations, NGOs, and other relevant actors in the agricultural sector, in close coordination with Public Affairs and other relevant areas. Supervise the work of public relations agencies, ensuring quality and effectiveness in executing communication strategies.Support local leaders in external communication (conferences, forums, interviews, etc.) and draft speeches, articles, and key messages.

 

Social Media and Digital Strategy Management

Collaborate within a cross functional regional team to implement the social media and digital communication strategy in the subregion, making sure the digital strategy aligns with the overarching division and company strategy and narrative.Generate and curate content for social media and digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the company’s key messages.Monitor and report on digital initiatives’ performance using key metrics, such as reach, engagement, and sentiment.

 

Internal Communication

Collaborate within a regional team to implement internal communication campaigns to inform, inspire, and align employees with corporate objectives.Develop newsletters, internal announcements, presentations, and other materials to foster employee engagement. Assist in communicating key regional programs related to corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and other strategic projects.

 

Issues and Crisis Management

Collaborate with the Public Affairs and Regulatory teams to identify potential communication risks in the region and prepare response plans to efficiently handle issues, together with the regional lead.Serve as the point of contact for local crises, ensuring the implementation of regional crisis management policies and tailoring them to local needs.Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Legal, Regulatory, Scientific Affairs, and Public Affairs teams to define priorities, identify opportunities, and mitigate risks.

 

WHO YOU ARE
 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.At least 8 years of experience in communications, desirable in sectors related to agriculture or agribusiness.Proven experience in managing communication crises and working in multicultural environments.Previous experience with media relations and PR agencies in the Andean Region and Central America is desirable.Experience in managing new media and social media platforms.Advanced English proficiency both written and spoken.Excellent writing and content creation skills.Ability to align regional goals with the corporate vision.Skill in identifying newsworthy angles and making effective pitches to journalists.Understanding of local markets, key audiences, and sociopolitical contexts.Focus on how communication impacts business performance and reputation.Ability to craft and deliver clear and strategic messages for leaders and key audiences.Experience in anticipating and addressing risks that could affect the company’s reputation.Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
