Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Communications Manager to lead and execute communication strategies for a large-scale master-planned community in Ladera Ranch, California.
This role involves managing all aspects of internal and external communications to ensure residents, stakeholders, and the broader community remain informed and engaged. The ideal candidate will excel in content creation, community relations, and brand management to enhance the community’s identity and reputation. The Communications Manager will also oversee the management and ongoing development of the LaderaLife.com website to ensure it serves as a central hub for community information and engagement.
Compensation: $80-90k
FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Ladera Ranch does offer a bonus program for up 10% of the salary.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution
Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans that align with the community’s vision and goals. Oversee messaging creation, dissemination, and consistency across various platforms, including digital, print, and in-person communication. Identify opportunities to highlight the community’s unique features and foster a sense of belonging among residents.Website Management
Oversee the day-to-day management and updates of LaderaLife.com, ensuring accurate and timely content. Collaborate with technical teams or vendors to enhance website functionality and user experience. Monitor website analytics and implement improvements based on user engagement and feedback. Ensure the website remains a reliable and user-friendly resource for community news, events, and updates.Content Development
Create high-quality, engaging content tailored for residents and prospective community members, including newsletters, press releases, social media posts, and website updates. Work with design and content teams to ensure cohesive branding across all communication materials. Coordinate and oversee multimedia content production, such as videos and community event coverage.Media and Public Relations
Build and maintain relationships with local media outlets to promote community activities and initiatives. Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to highlight key milestones and achievements.Analytics and Reporting
Monitor and report on communication effectiveness, using data-driven insights to refine strategies. Track engagement metrics across platforms to ensure communication goals are met. Stay updated on industry trends to recommend innovative approaches.Team Coordination and Collaboration
Collaborate with the lifestyle, operations, and member services teams to align communication efforts. Supervise external vendors or freelancers involved in communication projects.Note: Candidates will need to provide samples of work prior to the interview. Must have experience in a similar role utilizing multiple types of platforms in a medium to large organization.
Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills
Proficiency in communication tools and platforms, including social media management tools and email marketing systems. Familiarity with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred. Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO and website content management systems.Soft Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Creative and strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities.Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related role, preferably in real estate or community management. Experience working with master-planned communities or residential developments is a plus. Prior experience managing websites and knowledge of content management systems is highly desirable.Physical Requirements & Working Environment:

This position is required to work lifestyle events that may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays. All staff are required to work July 4th. Hours over and above normal office hours will occur, including evenings, holidays, and some weekends. The schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have direct reports; however, the Communications Manager will supervise a variety of vendors and freelancers to ensure the successful execution of communication initiatives.Tools & Equipment Used:
