Communications Manager
A law firm is currently looking for a Communications Manager to join its Marketing Department in Chicago, New York City, or Washington, D.C.

Compensation: $130-150k

As a member of the Marketing Department's Communications team, you would have a firm-wide responsibility for managing the identification, intake, evaluation and pursuit of award opportunities. The position requires a blend of strategic thinking, project management and communications skills. 

Responsibilities:
Strategic Counsel / Decision Making Provide information on research processes and best practices for nominations. Identify future award opportunities to support strategic firm and practice objectives. Maintain master calendar of opportunities and status. Manage research and analysis of award opportunities and communication to stakeholders and decisionmakers. Coordinate nominee selection process with business development, practice group leaders, office managing partners and others, as needed. Coordinate with Client to assign nominations and provide guidance on approach and content to owners of the nomination. Work with owners to ensure deadlines are met. Reporting Manage announcement, recording and communication/promotion of results. Create reports and analysis of results for marketing colleagues and firm partners and leaders for use in internal communications, benchmarking and marketing materials.Consultants Work with Client and the Awards team to identify when consultants are needed and coordinate that work. Manage the assignment and production of work by consultants.Project Manager / Writer Project manage and serve as lead writer on high-level firm nominations and occasionally when resource gaps exist for other nominations.Qualifications: At least seven years of experience in legal or professional services marketing or related role. A strong team orientation and a collaborative nature, including a can-do attitude and willingness to jump in where needed to ensure award projects get completed. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects while overseeing overall workflow for a busy award nomination schedule. Resilience and adaptability to deal with fluid situations, changing priorities and requirements, and tight deadlines. Keen attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Exceptional written and verbal communications skills and ability to communicate with firm partners, administrative team leaders, and colleagues professionally and effectively. Experience with legal awards is strongly desired.
