The Communications & Platform Coordinator develops and executes strategic digital communications across platforms while managing the faculty member's professional online presence. The role combines creative content creation with strategic planning and visual design, focusing on developing engaging short-form content, designing compelling visual materials, building platform-specific strategies, and maintaining consistent brand presence across digital channels. Working a total of 10 hours per week, duties include but are not limited to:
Create and design original social media content and visual materials across platforms.
Develop and execute platform-specific content strategies.
Manage project timelines and content calendars.
Translate academic insights into engaging digital content.
Design graphics and visual elements that maintain brand consistency.
Track analytics to inform content strategy.
Build engagement across digital platforms.
Work Interactions
This position reports to a faculty member and collaborates with other team members to ensure consistent messaging and project delivery. This role drives the faculty member's digital presence by translating academic work into engaging public-facing content while maintaining professional communications standards and strategic growth of digital platforms.
Requirements and Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in social media content creation and management
Strong creative writing and storytelling abilities
Experience with graphic design and visual content creation tools
Excellence in written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement content strategies
Strong project management and organizational skills
Understanding of social media best practices and trends
Ability to translate complex ideas into engaging content
Experience with analytics and performance tracking
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
Previous experience managing professional social media accounts
Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
Experience with content strategy development
Background in digital marketing or communications
Experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Trello)
Knowledge of SEO and content optimization
An understanding of academic or healthcare communications

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$19.20 - $28.70Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
