**POSITION DETAILS**
Reporting directly to the Communications Director, the Communications Publications Writer-Editor is a key player in the communications team at the Law School. They will conceptualize, create, and spearhead delegated commissions including but not limited to, recruitment campaigns, student stories, faculty profiles, national day celebrations, annual publications, and special events. They also prepare general copy and written narratives for press materials and a wide-ranging gamut of promotional materials for various types of stakeholders. They may oversee the contributions of part-time staff, students as well as external contributors.
This position will include the following:
+ Researches and writes items in a variety of formats for publications in print, web sites, email, and social media.
+ Pitches press on selected topics and academic fields
+ Consults with the Law School’s administration and faculty in creating materials that promote CUNY Law student offerings and services.
+ Collaborates with audio/visual content across the Law School communications channels.
+ Conceptualizes, researches, writes and edits communication materials, including newsletters, press releases, presentations, talking points, and related pieces.
+ Coordinate production responsibility for communication projects, contributing to decisions on content and style.
+ Coordinates production of written materials while adhering to journalistic standards for fact-finding, research, verification, and style.
+ Participates in the design, development and implementation of strategic communications and media relations programs.
+ Essential duties require on-campus presence.
This position may require evening or weekends.
Like other staff in the Law School, you are subject to the same in-person requirements, which entail a minimum of 70% in-person on-campus presence over two weeks. This requirement for in-person work may be higher than 70% based on departmental and divisional needs.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
· At least 4 years’ experience writing/editing publishing works. Experience working with social and new media, web and print. Ability to skillfully manage deadlines and work in a fast- paced environment.
· Proficiency with Microsoft and OS office suites; savvy navigating interfaces of content management systems; experience with WordPress, Mailchimp, Hootsuite and project management platforms.
· Superior copy writing skills for all matters of narrative.
· Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills.
· Exceptional project management and production execution skills.
· Availability to work evening and weekend hours as required.

Writes and prepares written material on College issues and event and provides professional support to College communications programs.
