**39633BR** **Extended Job Title:** Community Advisor - Summer Conference Staff 2025 **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech University **Position Description:** The Summer Conference Staff (SCS) is a student employed by University Student Housing to assist in the daily management and operation of the Residence Halls that are in operation for summer camps and conferences. As a member of the Residence Life staff, the SCS work with Residence Life Coordinators, Graduate Hall Coordinators/Graduate Assistants, Interns for University Student Housing, Senior Specialists, and Leadership Team staff in creating a positive environment for all campus guests. Many times, the SCS is the first contact individuals experience in the residence halls and at Texas Tech University. The SCS provides assistance related to the preparation, stay, and check-out of camps and conferences staying on campus. This includes completing visual room checks, creating key packets, assisting in the check-in/check-out process, working the service desks within the residence halls, and serving on an on-call rotation. **Requisition ID:** 39633BR **Travel Required:** None **Major/Essential Functions:** **Administration:** + Assist in the preparation for conference arrivals, such as creating key packets and completing visual room checks + Facilitate and support large scale group check-ins and checkouts alongside professional staff team + Work weekly shifts at 24-hour service desks, including late night and weekend shifts (transportation not provided) + Provide excellent customer service in person and via phone both internally to the department and externally + Communicate effectively with students, staff, key stakeholders such as Housekeeping/Facilities, and visitors + Adapt to changes in schedules as needed by the clients or supervisor(s) + Utilize department software and databases necessary for the summer operation of the residential complexes, including but not limited to Iris, Roompact, EZTrackIt, and StarRez. + Attend scheduled staff meetings in addition to any emergency, team and individual meetings + Read reports, gather and compile information and prepare reports **On-Call/Crisis Response:** + During assigned dedication shifts, be accessible by the Summer Conference Staff on-call number and respond as needed to questions/concerns + Participate in dedication shifts for the duration of the summer conference season, which may include student break holidays + Be available on a call-to-duty status for the duration of the summer conference season and assist Residence Life staff with campus emergencies and major events + Work with University Student Housing professional staff and external stakeholders, including the Coordinator On-Call, Night Operations, Texas Tech Police Department, and Crisis Hotline, to respond to student concerns or incidents within the residence halls + Ensure accurate reporting and provide follow-up as necessary with student concerns **Departmental and Campus Support:** + Support departmental initiatives within Residence Life including Summer School Housing, Student Leadership and Summer Conferences Assist and support housekeeping staff by preparing guest rooms for conference participants + Collaborate with campus and community stakeholders and conference guests as directed by University Student Housing professional staff **Pay Basis:** Monthly **Schedule Details:** On-call rotation and office shifts scheduled to support a 24-hour desk operation. **Work Location:** Lubbock **Preferred Qualifications:** + Have experience in an on-campus living environment. + Demonstrated leadership experience and academic achievement. + Desire to assist students in personal growth and success. **Department:** University Student Housing **Required Attachments:** Cover Letter, Professional/Personal References, Resume / CV **Job Type:** Part Time **Job Group:** Service Workers **Shift:** Other **Required Qualifications:** A student with full-time enrollment: 12 hours in Fall and Spring; 6 hours in Summer. _At the time of application_ , the minimum required employment criteria will include: + Candidates must currently have a minimum 2.250 Texas Tech University (TTU)/Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center(TTUHSC) semester grade point average (GPA) and 2.500 TTU/TTUHSC cumulative GPA. + Candidates must be a full time student at TTU or TTUHSC (minimum 12 undergraduate credit hours or 9 graduate credit hours) or have the total equivalent total credit hours between TTU and TTUHSC. + Candidates must be in good academic and judicial standing with the University, Student Judicial Programs and University Student Housing. First semester transfer students must submit academic transcript from most recent institution. _At the time of hire_ , the newly hired CA must maintain the minimum required employment criteria,which includes: + Must have completed a minimum of 24 total credit hours at TTU and/or TTUHSC (12 credit hours for transfer students). + Must have resided in TTU campus housing for at least two semesters (one semester at TTU plus documentation of additional equivalent residential community for transfer students). + Must maintain status as a full time student at TTU or TTUHSC (minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hours or 9 graduate credit hours) or have equivalent total credit hours between TTU and TTUHSC. + Must achieve and maintain a minimum 2.250TTU/TTUHSC semester GPA and 2.500 TTU/TTUHSC cumulative GPA. + Must maintain good academic and judicial standing with TTU/TTUHSC, University Student Housing, and Student Judicial Programs. + Due to the nature of the Community Advisor position, no additional employment can be held on or off-campus.
