The purpose of this job is to provide day to day technical support for two or more Community Relationship Managers in serving the needs of clients and prospects, with regard to loans, deposits, investments, trusts, and insurance products.  Support should be provided in all aspects of the business banking process to include successful loan closings, and portfolio management subsequent to loan closings.

 

The purpose of this job is to utilize advanced knowledge and experience of acceptable commercial lending practices to provide day to day assistance to two or more Community Relationship Managers II or III  with (all of the duties of Community Banking Assistant I, plus) complicated portfolio management, perfection of loan documentation, and technical assistance, as needed, to ensure timely and accurate coordination of reviews, loan renewals, loan modifications, exceptions and compliance resolution, and all other aspects of the commercial lending and portfolio management processes.

 

This position may be filled as a Level I or II.  Additional responsibilities and qualifications apply.

Responsibilities Provide administrative support for the department. Duties include, but not limited to answering phones and referring calls to appropriate staff, coordinating officer calendars and scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, memos, reports, ordering supplies and maintenance requests, training new associates, opening and distributing mail, and preparing expense reports.Gather information and prepare loan applications, disburse loan advances, accurately quote payoffs, order credit reports, pull financial statements, collect and review documentation for accuracy and compliance prior to submission for processing, manage exception list, work closely with Relationship Managers in attaining and approving collateral releases, complete, file and release Universal Commercial Code (UCCs), complete application for Letters of Credit, and retrieve and utilize information on sweep accounts.Interface with other departments including branch personnel, Loan Operations, Central Document Processing (CDP), Wire Transfer, Treasury Services, Mail Distribution, Trust, Compliance, Credit Analysis and Credit Operations, and the Legal Department.Assisting customers with general banking functions (post close) as needed including transferring funds, wires, and balancing checking accounts.Provide excellent customer service to all clients, internally and externally.Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications High school diploma Minimum of two (2) years of previous experience as a business banking assistant or relevant general banking or general assistant experience Accounting and mathematical aptitudeDue to the critical element of customer exposure, the qualified associate must demonstrate excellent customer service ability in addition to each of the following:Excellent interpersonal skillsGood organizational skills with demonstrable ability to multitask. Good communication skills (verbal and written) while demonstrating ability to use lending terminology.Good time management skills

Level II additional qualifications:

 

Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Community Banking Assistant I or proven equivalent

Knowledge of advanced banking and commercial lending procedures and practicesFamiliarity with legal concepts involving commercial lending and knowledge of when and whom to forward escalated concernsFunctional understanding of UCCs, Deeds of Trust, Borrowing Base Certificates, Letters of Credit, and Sweep AccountsDue to the critical element of customer exposure, the qualified associate must demonstrate excellent customer service ability in addition to each of the following:Excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills with demonstrable ability to effectively multitaskExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) while demonstrating ability to effectively use lending terminologyExcellent time management skillsAdvanced computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other bank systems (such as nCino, OnDemand, Outlook,) necessary to perform tasksMUST be able to exercise confidentiality with sensitive informationCollege degree preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
