Job Description:

Community engagement & Coordination

Assist in sensitisation of local government structures, communities and traditional authorities on the targeting criteria and identification and registration of the beneficiaries for the delivery of agricultural, livestock and protection inputs.Organise for inception and community sensitisation meetingsConducting awareness raising and messaging for affected beneficiaries on the programRaise awareness on the use of community feedback mechanisms.Facilitating coordination with authorities for all activities (share information, assist as needed)

Timely assistance project cash distribution activities:

Assist in the registration of target families, ensuring that the data is collected and is recorded appropriatelyWork together with the Cash Assistant on the development of distribution plansAssist cash programme beneficiary selection, beneficiary verification and beneficiary registration with MEAL unitParticipate in Cash Voucher Assistance feasibility and Delivery Mechanisms Assessments Participate in Markets Assessment and monthly price monitoringEnsure that proper community development practices and “Do No Harm” practices are incorporated and upheld throughout the implementation of the project.Conducting coordination meeting with community elders and line departments on cash distribution activities.Conduct regular meeting with local whole seller and retailers.Conduct market linkage between Community and localAssist hiring of the labours are in compliance with government rules and regulationsObserve parents and children with special needs and ensure they are well integrated into the activities; if needed, refer them to relevant services.Attend special information sessions planned for community members and parents.Report supply or material needs to the FSL officerSupport information dissemination on protection, parenting, service access,

Data Collection and Reporting

Contribute in conducting of FGDs, door to door surveys and survey for the baseline and end line and other survey.Responsible for all required technical aspects on the ground on projects and ensure that implemented as requiredCollect harvest date throughout the appropriate data collection toolsCollect any feedback received during the communities meeting and field visits and report to line manger timelyProvide monthly and weekly plans and reportsDevelop success stories of the projects interventions

Documentation of best practices for learning purposes and increase program visibility

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or

Certification

At least 14th grade qualification in social studiesVery good communication with communities and local authorities.Good computer skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet

Required Professional Experience

At least 2 years of experience in (Livestock, protection, community mobilization and community sensitization) Experience in documentation of project documents   Experience working with community leaders (Community Based Structures)

Required Language(s)

Fluency in English, Dari and/or Pashto, both written and spoken

Required travel and/or work environment accommodations

This position is based in Herat with travel to districts

Preferred Knowledge

and Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience in Food Security and Livelihood and Economic empowerment programming. Humanitarian context experience: Ability to work with minimal supervision: Experience in cash transfer /GIK projects an added advantage Ability to work as part of a field team Communication skills and knowledge of local communities  Good command of English (written and verbal). Able to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural context, stressful environments and with limited resources Proficient in local languages Cross cultural sensitivity, flexible views, emotional maturity and physical stamina. Demonstrable experience in child protection, child rights Interpersonal, management and conflict resolution skills.

Understanding of Child Protection and Gender issues.
