Job Summary:

We're seeking a skilled mental health professional with strong clinical assessment abilities and extensive experience in behavioral health treatment to serve as our Community Behavioral Health Liaison. This role requires someone with clinical training and experience who can expertly evaluate complex mental health and substance use needs, provide clinical guidance to justice system partners, and coordinate comprehensive care plans for high-risk individuals.

In this clinically-focused position, you'll utilize your professional expertise to conduct behavioral health screenings, provide clinical consultation to law enforcement and court personnel, and coordinate specialized treatment interventions. Your clinical background will be essential in assessing individuals in crisis, determining appropriate levels of care, facilitating civil commitments, and developing strategic care coordination plans for complex cases involving both behavioral health and justice system involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct clinical screenings and assessments for individuals with complex behavioral health needs in justice system settingsProvide expert clinical consultation to law enforcement, court personnel, and jail staff regarding mental health and substance use disordersEvaluate clinical needs and determine appropriate levels of care for crisis intervention and treatment planningApply clinical expertise to facilitate civil commitment procedures and complex case managementProvide clinical guidance during law enforcement responses to mental health crisesDevelop and deliver clinical training programs for law enforcement and justice system personnelCoordinate specialized treatment interventions and monitor clinical outcomesFacilitate clinical care transitions between justice system and community-based treatment providersApply therapeutic expertise to support law enforcement wellness initiativesMaintain clinical documentation and outcome tracking through CareManager system

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Requires a master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling or related behavioral health field and be an experienced, qualified mental health professional

Prefer LMSW, LCSW, PLPC, LPC

Work independently, able to follow direction, and accept supervision

Establish effective relationships via telephone and personal, face-to-face contacts.

Adaptability (ability to perform effectively in the face of changing job demands)

Initiative (taking necessary and appropriate action on one’s own)

Additional Qualifications:

Strong clinical decision-making skills and professional judgmentExperience conducting risk assessments and crisis interventionExpertise in behavioral health systems and evidence-based practicesAdvanced knowledge of mental health and substance use disordersMust possess valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community travelAbility to maintain clinical boundaries while working in non-traditional settingsMust be at least 21 years old, hold a current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.
