Community Crisis Nurse Manager
Schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, On Call required    Salary: $115,000 / year   Sign On Bonus :$1000; $500 upon completion of 30 days, $500 upon completion of 6 months   The Youth Community Crisis Stabilization Program (YCCS) is a short-term, open 12-bed unit for youth ages 13-18 years of age. The Community Crisis Stabilization Program (YCCS) Nurse Manager, with the Program Director, has twenty-four hours a day/seven a week oversight of the medical and clinical aspects of the YCCS. The YCCS serves as a medically necessary, less restrictive, and voluntary alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. The Program Nurse Manager ensures proper standards and regulations are adhered to as set forth by the Massachusetts Nursing Practice ACT and MAP requirements, funding source regulations, and Vinfen company policies. Directs and manages the activities of program nursing staff (RNs and LPNs), including Certified Medical Assistants, and MAP certified staff members, when appropriate. In conjunction with the Program Director (PD) and operational leadership, screens and hires nursing staff as warranted following budgeted allocations. Utilizes staff appropriately with the goal of optimizing effort, providing necessary medical/nursing care, and assists in achieving operational and financial goals. Manages staff performance. Provides direction, training, and coaching. Implements recognition/rewards programs, conducts performance planning and review sessions, and provides guidance on career development. Responsible for counseling and corrective action, when necessary. Offers clinical and nursing support and supervision to nurses working at the YCCS. Plans and conducts monthly nursing meetings on a regularly scheduled basis and on an as needed basis. In collaboration with Prescriber and PD, delegates nursing care assignments with an understanding of staff roles, knowledge, and capabilities. Ensures that the intake of new clients is completed in a timely, professional manner. Arranges and performs intake procedures and conducts initial holistic assessment to
determine client's appropriateness for program. Provides first aid when and if necessary
and is responsible for responding to urgent or acute care matters to coordinate and delegate next steps. Provides initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, care planning, interventions, and coordination of care for individuals in collaboration with the overseeing physician. Utilizing a variety of modalities ensures the client's treatment addresses the mental health care needs.
