The Division of Population Behavioral Health is seeking to hire a Community Engagement Specialist to join the UCLA VA Veteran Family Wellbeing Center (VFWC). The VFWC serves as a vital access point for veterans and their families, providing life-skills training, health and wellness services, recreation, prevention programs, and educational support. Primary duties include:
+ Prepare training spaces, including setting up chairs, organizing materials, collecting sign-in sheets, and documenting attendance
+ Develop, manage, and maintain ongoing relationships with partner organizations and training participants
+ Support training strategies for assigned projects, including collaborating on curriculum planning and making decisions about collateral materials
+ Coordinate with other training facilitators to ensure consistency, fidelity, and adaptability in training delivery across various settings and target populations
+ Develop and implement special projects as needed
+ Contribute to the development of evaluation strategies, including formative, summative, and performance-based measures
+ Utilize evaluation and user data to inform training improvements
Salary range: $32.76/hr - $49.65/hrQualifications
Bachelors degree in behavioral health field or minimum 3 years of experience in instructional design principles and practices, including multiple learning modalities, interactive training design, e-learning, distance learning, etc.
Masters degree in behavioral health field (MA, MSW, MFT) (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to provide training to paraprofessionals, educators, and other providers
Experience delivering cultural and trauma-sensitive training
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced work environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of manualized psycho-educational training programs and evidence-based interventions
Familiarity with LA-DMH and other LA County systems (highly preferred)
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
