FLSA STATUS: Exempt, 40 Hours a Week

Annual Salary Range: $60,000 to $65, 000

JOB SUMMARY: Working under the supervision of the Partnership Development Director to ensure powerful volunteer impact to expand base of donors and supporters while strengthening connections with diverse communities. The Community Engagement and Volunteer Talent Manager should have excellent project/event management skills, provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with internal and external constituents. The candidate must be able to anticipate and identify project needs, discern work priorities, meet deadlines with little supervision and be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Volunteer Management Strategy
Responsible for overseeing volunteer engagement and activities within the organization, provide oversight and management of the volunteer program, design, plan, and direct the program to become efficient and effective for volunteers, officers, and staff through active volunteer recruitment, strategic placement, relevant training, proper supervision and meaningful recognition.
Develop, promote and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the Division
1.Oversee the strategic development and direction of volunteer communication system. Assist with identifying, creating and posting volunteer service descriptions, filling and removing volunteer opportunities.
2.Research industry best practices for volunteer recruitment, management and retention.
3.Build strong internal relationships with Corps Officers and Program Managers to assess needs and identify opportunities for volunteer assistance.
4.Assist Corporate Engagement Director with Corporate Volunteer events to include identifying and scheduling volunteer projects, planning volunteer events, ensure completion of all required volunteer documentation and training as needed, ensure proper execution, cross promotion and follow up.
5.Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and standards of volunteer service in coordination with Territorial and Divisional Headquarter requirements.

Recruit, interview and place applicants for volunteer service
6.Host and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified candidates.
7.Work with Marketing, PR and professional associations to publicize opportunities for volunteers both internally and externally.
8.Develop and maintain relationships with other volunteer organizations within the area.

Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers
9.Create meaningful experiences for volunteer service by providing direction, training and support to ensure volunteer success.
10.Act as single point of contact for communications.
11.Engage with volunteers by promoting opportunities and highlighting volunteers through monthly communication.
12.Serve as Development Liaison to Echelon volunteer boards and committees, providing guidance, meeting planning, execution, communication, and follow-up.
13.Confer with volunteers to resolve grievances and promote cooperation and interest.
14.Participate in monthly Territorial Volunteer Management meetings.


Create and distribute various volunteer communications, publications and swag items
15.Document volunteer activities through photo and video, with proper photo releases, as available.
16.Assist Marketing with research, design, and ordering of volunteer swag items to include but not be limited to volunteer shirts and volunteer appreciation gifts.
17.Actively gather stories and coordinate with Marketing and PR to execute strategy of storytelling to further increase brand awareness.
18.Identify Volunteer Impact stories for TSA to share and work with Marketing and Communications Director to secure interviews and/or photo/video shoot as needed.

Stewardship, Cultivation, Events, and Community Outreach:


Collaborate with Administrative Team in coordinating donor stewardship events, managing development logistics, and participating in community outreach and event execution. This position will help to steward and grow relationships with donors and play a key role in strategically designing, implementing, and effectively executing key fundraising activities.
1.Implement and coordinate the approved donor stewardship plans and reporting.
2.Collaborate with fundraising staff to identify and develop recognition opportunities.
3.Assist fundraisers in identifying and implementing best practices for stewardship event planning and volunteer engagement.
4.Collaborate with Development team to coordinate cultivation events, manage and execute meetings and events that advance donor and volunteer involvement, cultivation, and stewardship.
5.Collaborate and coordinate all revenue-driven special events, partner agreements, and community activities with Development team, which include but are not limited to: Thanksgiving, Register to Ring, Red Kettle Kick Off, Holiday Appreciation Party, William Booth Society functions, Donor Cultivation Tours and Events, and Estate and Gift Planning Seminars.
6.Execution of corporate sponsor and partner agreement. Work with Development team to cultivate and develop plans to explore new revenue opportunities.
7.Maintain event/project budget and accurate record keeping; ensure superior donor and/or volunteer experience through the utilization of event management software and online registration tools.
8.Assist Development team to arrange and oversee all event logistics to include staffing, donation acquisition, volunteer support, donor cultivation and stewardship.
9.Collaborate with Marketing & Communication Director and Social Media Specialist to increase brand awareness and event participation through event collateral production and conventional and electronic distribution.

Development Administration:
1.Ensure budget compliance as directed by Partnership Development Director.
2.Oversee the timely submission of invoices.
3.Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.
4.Assist with incoming mail/donation processing in collaboration with Finance and Data Management as needed.
5.Assist with monthly subscriptions of services required for proper support of business activity as needed.
6.Participate in Development Team meetings and professional development activities.
7.Perform other related duties as requested.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 - 5+ years’ work-related experience
•Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook 2016
•Works well with spreadsheets and Excel
•Maintain confidentiality
•Demonstrated capability to conduct oneself in a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations
•Must have a strong oral and written English communication skills
•Must be proactive and able to show initiative.
•Must have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
•Must provide consistent and reliable follow through
•Must exhibit a positive, professional attitude and enjoy working both independently and in teams
