Essential Functions of the position are detailed below, and include any physical requirements below that. 1. Welcomes clients, engages with CCAC program employees and volunteers, and serves as a key member of and point of contact within the CCAC community. 2. Promotes client's empowerment and self-sufficiency by connecting them to community resources and people who can help them access those supports, within Catholic Charities and at partner organizations. 3. Schedule and arrange donated or purchased food for weekly meal serving 100-130 sit-down meals/to-go meals, as available. 4. Purchase/manage serving supplies and cleaning supplies. 5. Manage operations on meal day: Opening, oversight of preparation procedures, execution of CCAC security plan, oversight of cleaning/closing procedures. 6. Manage and distribute CCAC marketing/information materials as needed, and serve as liaison between CCAC and parish staff. 7. Collaborate with CCAC Director of Volunteer Engagement (Cook County) or Associate Director, Volunteer Engagement (Lake County) for all volunteer management at site. Additonal Information The Community Fellow role is paid on a bi-weekly stipend, and estimated work hours will generally be from 4pm - 8pm on the night of the Community Meal each week (currently Wednesdays). There may be times when work hours vary, and hours are subject to change if timing of community meals change. Any additional meetings are scheduled with the program supervisor at mutually available times. PLEASE NOTE: Essential functions include all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling or standing multiple times a day.X Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds. Climb up and down up to 5 flights of stairs at a time. X Lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to work with and lead a team of dedicated volunteers. Minimum: Desire to serve others, prioritizing dignity and solidarity. Ability to navigate various sources of input and document a clear plan. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (email). Strong administrative, interpersonal and follow-through skills.
