Job Summary:
The Community Health Worker is responsible for supporting the daily operations of Community Health Engagement initiatives which aim to address the root causes of the social determinants of health in our region. The Community Health worker will bridge the gap between diverse communities and Virtua Health, fostering relationships and providing basic education to improve the overall wellbeing of the community.
Position Responsibilities:
Assist with daily functions as required by department needs which could include, but is not limited to, daily set up and breakdown at events, maintain appropriate documentation, monitor inventory of supplies, keep data, assist with administrative duties, assist in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, etc.
Provide excellent customer service with all patient and/or customer interactions. Support the overall wellbeing of the community by providing basic education of community resources. Serves as community liaison to build trust and loyalty between residents and Virtua Health.
Position Qualifications Required:
Required Experience:
Demonstrated interest in community, social justice, public health and/or local economies. Must display ease and comfort with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions and demonstrate the ability to treat all people with equity and respect. Able to work independently and interdependently with other staff and volunteers.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of community resources preferred.
Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic team atmosphere.
Bi-Lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred

Training / Certification / Licensure:
