About the Family Enrichment Center:
The Family Enrichment Center (FEC) is a warm and welcoming community gathering place in the Hunts Point neighborhood of the Bronx. It is a space where any member of the community can come for support, information, and resources. The FEC is a home-like setting, which reflects the community, and offers concrete supports, activities, and resources that promote family well-being and empowerment. In partnership with FEC staff, families will drive the planning, development, and long-term shared responsibility for the center. Families who participate in the FEC activities will be encouraged to share their expertise by volunteering at the center and given meaningful opportunities to engage with neighbors and peers. The goal of the FEC is to strengthen families’ protective factors and build community connections, capacity, and resilience.
Principal Objective/Role Overview:
The Community Liaison plays a vital role in connecting the Family Enrichment Center (FEC) with the broader community by fostering relationships, promoting clear communication, and collaborating to address the needs of local residents. This role is dedicated to building meaningful connections with community boards, committees, partners, and stakeholders, helping to create a space where families feel supported and empowered.
In addition to supporting the day-to-day operations of the FEC, the Community Liaison works closely with the FEC Director to develop and maintain community partnership agreements. They play a key role in enhancing FEC offerings by cultivating relationships with external organizations that bring valuable resources and opportunities to the center. The Community Liaison is also responsible for maintaining the FEC's computer technology, resource guide, and marketing materials, ensuring all resources are up-to-date and accessible.
To engage the broader community, the Community Liaison recruits community members, organizes outreach events, and leads presentations to local groups about the FEC's mission and activities. They actively participate in community board meetings, local school events, and collaborate with organizations to expand the FEC's network. By supporting volunteers and creating a welcoming environment, the Community Liaison helps build a thriving community hub that strengthens connections, promotes resilience, and fosters a sense of belonging for all.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere at the FEC where community members feel comfortable seeking support, accessing resources, and participating in activities, while engaging them during visits to ensure they feel seen, valued, and heard .
+ Build and maintain connections with local community boards, committees, partners, stakeholders, faith-based groups, and business associations to expand FEC’s network of resources and foster collaboration.
+ Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the FEC , including overseeing the maintenance of FEC computer technology and the resource guide, and supporting the overall functioning of the center.
+ Collaborate with the FEC Director to develop and maintain community partnership agreements, identifying community needs and establishing partnerships to address them.
+ Promote and recruit community members for FEC activities through local community outreach, presentations, and marketing materials, ensuring offerings are accessible and relevant to community interests.
+ Organize and lead FEC street outreach and community activities, ensuring engagement with local residents and presenting information about available resources.
+ Collaborate with partners to co-design and deliver workshops, resources, and events that align with the needs and priorities of the community, including organizing "How-To" workshops and other educational offerings.
+ Plan and attend evening community board meetings, school events, and precinct meetings to represent the FEC, build relationships, and strengthen its presence in the community.
+ Develop and implement communication strategies using platforms such as WhatsApp, social media, email, and in-person outreach to keep the community informed and engaged with FEC offerings.
+ Stay informed about local resources, organizations, and emerging community trends to enhance service delivery and partnerships, ensuring the FEC remains responsive to the needs of its community.

It’s a plus if you:
+ Have experience in any of the following areas: political campaigns, street outreach and/or developing community programs and services.
+ Have experience organizing.
Position Qualifications:
+ A Bachelor’s degree in social work, public policy, education, public administration, or related field; and equivalent experience of 1-2 years
+ Bilingual (Spanish/English)
+ Lived and/or worked in the South Bronx
+ Strong interpersonal skills, being able to connect with and engage children, youth and families
+ Experience imputing data, running data driven reports and using the information to make programmatic decisions
+ Technology and marketing experience
+ Experience developing and running street outreach events, developing community partnerships, and developing community resources
Salary & Compensation:
+ Base Salary or Hourly Rate: $55,000.00/year
+ FLSAStatus: Non-Exempt
