Department Details

Flexible scheduling with mainly evening and weekend classes. This position will be providing in person and virtual education for women in the prenatal and postpartum period.

Summary

Provides health education through Sanford Health sponsored and coordinated community classes.

Job Description

Knowledge of and use of appropriate age-related protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of identified populations. Coordinates pre-designed curriculum and specific course logistics and objectives pertinent to subject matter. Presents health education and promotion programs, such as training workshops, conferences, one-on-one consultations, and school or community presentations.

Provide feedback needed to assist in the development of new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.

The Community Life Educator establishes, strengthens, and maintains community relationships and partnerships based on assigned focus area and expertise. Must be able to work effectively with groups and communicate with individuals and groups. Must have experience in adult learning and learning styles, or as appropriate to developmental stage of participant. Experience in teaching and facilitation of groups essential.

Responsible for data collecting and administrative tasks associated with training courses as required by curriculum, grant funded programs and state regulations when applicable.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree preferred. Area of focus in public health, education, healthcare or related field preferred.

Certification/licensure as appropriate and/or required by course content.

When applicable, may need a valid driver's license.

If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.
