Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator (COC). The COC plays a vital role in the Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities Service, Department of Psychiatry, and Behavioral Sciences. As an integral member of the community outreach and research team and in compliance with all regulatory, institutional, and departmental requirements, performs data collection, data entry, and data analysis for community outreach projects, databases, and research protocols for the IHCD Service. Conducts community outreach programs/protocols within appropriate guidelines and regulations. Ensure data quality and integrity during each phase of data collection and for each protocol assigned.

Role Overview:Participate in outreach with Arabic speaking immigrant-serving health care facilities, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, ethnic media, and local government leaders.Assist with the creation of monthly reports of outreach, research, and educational activities.Attend training programs, modules, workshops, seminars, disease-specific meetings, and meetings to keep up-to-date on project objectives and new policies/procedures for conducting Community Outreach / human subjects’ research, when directed by the supervisor.Ensure that the consent/research authorization documents are signed and maintained as per protocol/department/service/MSK/agency policies.Maintain positive relationships with community groups and community leaders by supporting local initiatives and events and growing outreach.Participate in community events for Arabic-speaking communities and other immigrant communities.Work on special community outreach and research initiatives including special requests for the Research Council, IRB, Office of Clinical Research, or any regulatory compliance projects.Key Qualifications:Fluency in Arabic is requiredMinimum of a high school diploma plus 2 years of experience working in or with community-based outreach research with a focus on service and research health-related programs strongly preferredProven interest in health disparities; knowledge of Arabic immigrant communitiesStrong program management and organizational skillsKnowledge of SPSS a plusknowledge of REDCap a plus Core Skills:An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and implementing communications based on that understandingAdept at creating partnerships and working collaboratively to meet shared objectives and goalsCapable of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutionsA good decision-maker, with shown success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardWilling to take action and eager to accept new opportunities and tough challenges with high energy, and passionAdditional Information:
Location: 633 3rd AveHoursHybrid, 3 onsite, 2 remote (remote days will depend on work nature. They would be expected to come onsite for events/meetings/professional reasons as needed; both remote shifts will not be guaranteed).
