Community Recruitment Coordinator - School of Nursing

Position Summary:

The community recruitment coordinator (CRCC)/Life Coach will work directly with school districts and local non-profits on outreach and recruitment of young adults to prepare for and apply to Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing’s Practical Nurse Certificate Hybrid program. The coordinator will be a liaison with these new applicants to manage on-going education and skill acquisition; the application and interview process; group life skill trainings (i.e. money management, time management, language, conversation, and writing skills etc.); and general preparation required to submit a qualified school of nursing Practical Nurse Certificate application. The CRCC/Life Coach supports skill development during the admission and educational process by collaborating, offering perspective, and setting expectations while enrolled in a rigorous nursing program.

Education Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. A bachelor’s degree in administration, Marketing, Higher Education, or related field preferred.Experience in college recruitment and admissions with experience in enrollment and orientation highly desirable. Preference for experience recruiting students for a health care field and persons under-represented in the health professions (especially nursing). Experience in marketing or public relations a plus.Licensure/Certification not required.

Experience Requirements:

Experience with students and/or groups of students.Experience with populations of diverse backgrounds, underserved populations, and at-risk populations.Experience with student information systems, learning management systems, and social media platforms preferred.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, database management, and the ability to analyze data to facilitate recommendations.Excellent verbal and written skills, with the focus on populations of diverse backgrounds, and communication abilities.Requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Ability to work both independently and as part of an office team.Must be a self-starter, self-directed, and a problem solver.  

Additional Considerations:

Must have a valid New York driver's license.

Ability to travel throughout the state of New York.

Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Pay Range: $27.15 - $39.40

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
