At Silver Oak, we will be providing services to youth with variety of mental health conditions in a therapeutic residential setting.
Daily Expectations and Responsibilities:
the Community Specialist is a member of the Rite Care Team and is responsible for leading groups and the day-to-day monitoring, contact and supervision of the youth assigned to the Program. This position reports to the Program Manager or Director. Daily duties can include:
Coordinates with Placing Agencies to ensure the student’s needs are being Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with Placing Leads therapeutic groups such as: Thinking for a Change, ART, Restorative Solutions, Nurturing Parenting, Seeking Safety, Empathize, Safe Dates, etc. Leads study skill building Leads the recreation and Coordinates activities with other program staff. Provides transportation for clients to and from the program location and other community locations to ensure program participation. Updates transportation routes with each new student. Maintains client files in a timely and orderly and documents all groups in each student file.Work hours will be Monday - Friday between 1pm - 9pm with occasional weekends for special events.
Requirements:
High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in psychology, criminal justice, social services or education preferred. Valid Driver's License** One year experience working with at-risk youth. Be at least 21 years of age. Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC), physical, and TB test. Have completed ROP University (Essential Subjects) and IQT (Tech 22) for internal candidates, external candidates must pass within six months of employment.Come celebrate 40 years of helping At Risk Youth thrive at one of our 55 programs!
