DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Natural Resource Program Specialist 2, your primary role will involve the formulation of comprehensive statewide objectives and procedures for the national Community Wildfire Defense Program (CWDG), which is a grant initiative designed to assist vulnerable communities in strategizing and mitigating wildfire hazards. This position entails the creation of technical guidelines and operational frameworks for the CWDG program, alongside the establishment of a statewide mechanism aimed at the ongoing enhancement of program quality. You will engage with personnel from Forest Districts, various state fire management entities, and federal fire management organizations, providing interpretation and clarification of program policies and standards to these stakeholders. Additionally, you will act as the main point of contact for all matters related to the CWDG. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + One year of experience as a Natural Resource Program Specialist 1 (commonwealth title); or + Three years of professional experience in natural resource management or natural resource education; and a bachelor's degree in natural resource management, parks and recreation, education, biology, forestry, ecology, geosciences, environmental sciences, or a closely related field; or + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
