About the role
We are seeking a qualified individual to operate a Stationary Compactor to process municipal solid waste. The position involves the safe and efficient operation of a high-pressure hydraulic Compactor, completing daily pre-trip inspections and lubrication of the Compactor, opening and closing intermodal container doors, directing truck traffic to and from the Compactors, and periodic clean-up of the Compactor during and after operations. In addition, this position also includes assisting with traffic control and direction on the grounds and Tipping Floor areas of the Transfer Station, periodic clean-up of the Site, and supporting daily operations as directed by the Shift Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:Operate and maintain hydraulic compactor.Assist with traffic flow.Complete minor mechanical repairs.Qualifications:GED/HS Diploma preferred; Reworld offers GED Works- a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.One (1) year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA, preferably in a solid waste handling facilityMechanical, equipment or trade school certificate or training preferred.
