Summary of the Role:
The Compensation Coordinator plays a vital support role within the Human Resources department, focusing on the coordination and execution of various compensation activities. This position ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all compensation-related processes, including merit adjustments, cost of living (COL) increases, collective labor agreement (CLA) adjustments, recognition awards, and senior leadership compensation. The role involves close collaboration with various HR functions to ensure that compensation data and processes are in compliance and aligned with company policies.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Coordinate and execute all forms of compensation and awards, including annual and off-cycle market adjustments, promotions, COL and CLA increases, recognition awards, and senior leader compensation.
- Load and update salary budgets, adjusted salary ranges, variable pay plans, and configure/test systems for annual adjustments.
- Assign employees to appropriate pay and incentive groups, ensuring alignment with compensation guidelines.
- Run calculations for bonuses, incentives, and payouts for various groups and individuals
- Monitor and coordinate the completion of compensation adjustment activities, ensuring system and data accuracy throughout the process.
- Validate the readiness and accuracy of individual pay notifications and letters before distribution.
- Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers to resolve compensation-related issues,
- Validate the transmission of compensation adjustments, variable pay plans, and other relevant data to payroll and third-party vendors.
- Process reconciliations for retirement plans, merits, and bonuses, ensuring accurate records and compliance with company policies.
Requirements (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
- Proven experience (5+ years) in an HR coordinator or relevant human resources/administrative position, with a
focus on compensation.
- Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
- Detail-oriented and analytical, with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and proactive problem-solving skills.
Position will report to the Sr Mgr., Data Management & IMEA Leveraged Services
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is preferred and relevant experience can be considered.
- Additional education or certification in Human Resources or Compensation Management is a plus.
Experience and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of human resources processes and best practices, particularly in compensation management.
- Proficiency in using SAP and MS Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
- Experience with HR databases and HRIS systems, particularly SuccessFactors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
