Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive ABB’s compensation and performance programs at the ground level within countries of responsibility. Each day, you will research, analyze, evaluate, and oversee ABB compensation and performance activities with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting cross-functional initiatives as required. The Compensation & Performance Manager will lead and work as part of team of Human Resources (HR) and Compensation professionals and subject matter experts to develop and deliver the C&P strategy for the United States and Puerto Rico, in alignment with corporate and global HR strategy. The C&P Manager will also work to understand and represent the needs of the business and collaborate and develop solutions in partnership with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and other Compensation & Performance colleagues. This role reports directly to the Country Human Resources Manager for the US & PR and operationally to the Head of Global Compensation & Performance.The work model for the role is onsite in Cary, NC (#LI-Hybrid).Key Responsibilities:- Develops, executes and contributes to the local compensation strategy, in alignment with Corporate guidance, policies, and procedures. Acts as partner to the Business Areas and Divisions to advise on C&P strategy, process and policy and best practices, and develop solutions.- Collaborates with HRBPs and business leaders to understand current challenges that can be supported or resolved through existing, new, and/or improved HR and compensation practices, processes, or policies. Counsels HR and business leaders on effective solutions to address challenges and support long-term goals and objectives.- Leads a team of Compensation Operations professionals that manage and optimize support for the relevant end to end processes and monitor service delivery in accordance with pre-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and in conjunction with the HR Transformation Team’s Workday design and development - Monitors and determines the effectiveness of compensation related programs, initiatives and strategies and their ability to attract, retain and engage top talent. Implements and continuously optimizes and improves rewards processes and procedures, alignment with ABB guidance, policy, and procedures. Our team dynamics:You will join a tactically strong and customer focused team, where you will be able to lead a team of experienced compensation professionals and partner with others on the HR Leadership Team.

Qualifications for the role

A fully qualified HR professional with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10 plus years of compensation experience.Expertise in compensation programs and compensation strategy development and advocacy, efficient compensation operations delivery, understanding of the broader HR strategy, and in anticipating business and customer needs and developing solutions in partnership with them.Experience and comfort working with HR colleagues and senior leaders, effectively communicating, collaborating and interacting with each of them.Way of working is characterized by a clear service orientation and a high degree of independence, so that you can drive your tasks and projects forward quickly and on your own responsibility.High commitment, resilience and flexibility to help develop solutions even for challenging topics and time sensitive topics.Strong understanding of local compensation laws and regulations.Advanced Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and HRIS skills (e.g. Workday/SAP).Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and work proactively in a face-paced team environment.Experience working in a global organization, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity, and experience dealing with multiple countries preferred. Workday and/or SAP experience preferred.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
