Job Summary: 

The Freeride Team Coach will work with our top ski athletes, ages 10-15, in a competitive training environment.  The team will train every weekend and throughout holiday periods in the disciplines of slope style, half pipe, skier – x and big mountain freeride.  The role requires excellent planning, communication and programming skills.  The coach will provide quality training to program athletes in a safe and fun manner while upholding all California Skier Safety Act rules/regulations and Vail Resorts guidelines. This job can be combined with teaching in the Ski & Ride School to provide full-time work.

 

Job Specifications:  

Expected Pay Range: $21.00 - $62.52 / hour

Shift & Schedule Availability: Full and Part Time available

Holidays Required 

Other: Must be certified by an accredited Snowsports governing body 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

Upholding the highest levels of safety on varied terrain in a high alpine setting with varying winter weather conditions. Communicating with athletes and parents on skill development. Following all Expedition Kirkwood and Resort policies, procedures and guidelines. Travel to and support at off-mountain events and competitions. Coordinating a competition plan with each athlete and their parents. Evaluating athlete’s skill sets, developing a plan accordingly, and working with the program coordinator to make sure each group is cohesive. An understanding of all rules and regulations as outlined by the governing associations: USSA, USASA, USCSA, etc. 

 

Job Requirements: 

High school diploma or equivalent education PSIA, USASA, USSA certification and or competitive background Work well in a team environment Must be able to work weekends and holidays Excellent communication and guest service skills Ability to Ski at an expert level.

Preferred skills:

Previous experience in coaching or working with kids Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  Previous competitive background PSIA Freestyle Accreditations  

 

The expected pay range is $21.00 - $62.52. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
