Job Description:

The Completion & Intervention Engineer assures a suitable SoR is prepared for a proposed well activity (i.e. completions, wellwork, well surveillance, or well integrity job). They research well history information and prepares engineering solutions to achieve complex job objectives. They efficiently and consistently apply wells standards, procedures, and practices as well as the appropriate engineering tools with daily tasks and projects. 


This role will documents appropriate well barriers in written procedures, as well as coordinates with Wells Operations during job design to assure understanding and support for the job. They contribute to development of completion/intervention engineering well designs as well as prepares and supports execution of completion/intervention execution programs. They review completion/intervention performance, identifying lessons learned. The Completion and Intervention Engineer also goes to the well site to provide engineering support during the job execution stage when required. 

Key Accountabilities

Provides the completion & intervention engineering expertise required to deliver well designs, planning, and programs that conform to business objectives and are in compliance with local regulations, and are in conformance with all BP Practices and Procedures. 

Provides detailed well activity job research, risk assessments, and procedures consistent with the company policies. 

Works with cross-functional peers in wells engineering, wells operations, and subsurface to ensure engineering/well planning and design conforms to all project business objectives. 

Supports the  Wells Superintendent (WSUP) and the Completion & Intervention Engineering Manager in execution of well operations by leading delivery of completion/intervention engineering support and assurance. 

Education and Experience

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited and recognized university.

Minimum of 10 years post-degree relevant work experience in Completions/Interventions Engineering and/or other well construction/servicing related experience. 

Strong operational / wellsite Supervisory experience and exposure to Multi-discipline operations is preferred.

Well Control Certificate desired

Experience in Jack up/Platform/Modular/MODU/Semi Sub/HWO/Non Rig type operations.
