We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk & Compliance Team at Mercer. This is a hybrid role, working at least two to three days a week in our offices based in Sydney or Melbourne.
Compliance Administrator, Regulatory Governance Office
The newly established Regulatory Governance Office is responsible for ensuing our organisation meets its obligations under including CPS 511, FAR, and ‘Fit and Proper’ under Regulatory Guide (RG 105).
This role provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to ensure all compliance processes, documentation, data and reporting mechanisms are effectively maintained and aligned with regulatory requirements.
Support a culture of regulatory compliance and continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and efficiency gains in compliance administration relating to CPS 511, FAR and Fit and Proper, adapting to industry trends and evolving regulatory requirements for optimal operational effectiveness
We will count on you to:
Manage and coordinate all administrative and operational duties related to AFSL, FAR and CPS 511 requirements, ensuring documentation, artifacts, and records are accurately maintained and accessible. This includes organising files, tracking compliance-related documentation, and supporting other team members regarding administrative processes and requirements. Assist in monitoring compliance with CPS 511, FAR and Fit and Proper processes by tracking relevant data and ensuring that any compliance gaps are addressed through the preparation of compliance reports for internal stakeholders and providing regular updates to senior management on key compliance areas.Assist in managing any incidents related to FAR, CPS 511 or Fit and Proper by systematically collecting, tracking and distributing information to ensure documentation is accurate, corrective actions are tracked, and reports are submitted to relevant stakeholders.Provide administrative support for training and awareness initiatives related to FAR, CPS 511, and Fit and Proper to ensure that relevant persons are well-trained and aware of their responsibilities by organising training sessions and distributing educational materialsConduct regular assessments of information and data quality related to FAR, CPS 511 and Fit and Proper, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain high standards of accuracy and reliability.Support the development of operational processes to enhance efficiency within the Office to ensure improvements in information gathering and reporting related to regulatory requirements by identifying and implementing effective solutions.Benchmark current practices against industry standards and best practices to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in governance, compliance processes and risk management by analysing gaps and recommending enhancements.What you need to have:
Experience in regulatory compliance or governance, preferably within a large superannuation or other financial services organisation.Experience in interpreting regulation and in drafting formal corporate documentation, including procedures.Experience in interpreting legal requirements of legislation.Demonstrated ability to develop detailed knowledge of business processesStrong communication skills both written and oral.Desirable but not essential:Prior knowledge and experience of FAR &/or BEARExperience working in or providing performance and reward operational expertiseAbility to manage deliverables with rapidly changing priorities and demands.Senior specialist level interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication.Strong technical skills in regulatory/legal and complianceGood organisational skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines.Uses available technology to improve practices and own productivity.Makes sound recommendations based on analysis and findings in reporting.Professional technical writing.What makes you stand out:
